You can almost always find a cheaper insurance plan for any kind of insurance. They suck you in by offering a low rate, which will be raised the next year, hoping you will not care enough after that year to shop for another low price offered by another company for the first year to suck you in.
Everyone has a scheme: Town I live in could not figure out how to tax homeowners policies, so they decoded to charge the local insurance agents a percentage for “the privilege of doing business in our town”. Of course, they pass it on to the homeowner. State only sticks us for 1.8%; locals hit us for 11.5$!!!
