    Yeah, there were people here 30,000 years before Columbus “discovered” America.

    It is well accepted that Viking explorer Lief Ericsson sailed to what is now Newfoundland centuries before Columbus. The Vikings were settling Greenland, which is only a short sail from Newfoundland.

    Also, it is widely accepted that English fishermen were fishing waters off Newfoundland and Nova Scotia in the early 1400s. They kept it secret lest the French and others move in and ruin the great fishing.

    Big Fat Broom-Hilda Land sounds too much like a musical movie title. America is shorter, too (not shorter than Broomie; shorter than her name for the country)….
