I bet Pab generates more page visits to Wikipedia than any other Gocomics site by far. In further news, I should be ashamed that I forgot about Herculaneum. My Greek and Roman Art and History prof would be so proud. Hell, we’re talking high school level history.
I used to know a man named Ercolino. Somewhere I learned the name derived from Herculaneum. I suppose the place-name endured even after the town was destroyed.

Coincidentally (or not), Mt. Vesuvius was originally thought to have erupted on Aug. 24, 79 CE. Further evidence now points to October.

I thought at first Herculaneum was an element. I had to look it up. Sigh. I’m learning too much.
