Traditional symbol of good luck, till those Nazi jerks got a hold of it. I’d like to figure out how to snatch it back, but the connotations are too strong.
You’d be surprised how often that mistake is made, although I wonder if this symbol is allowed in Germany and Austria with their ban on Nazi-paraphernalia and this being confused with swastika so often?
Well to be fair for Sedine I guess a lot of people assume that given Japan’s former place in the Axis Powers. Not to mention they took a lot of technological knowledge in that time, they even perfected the dreaded rocket with their Yokosuka MXY-7 Ohka, I suppose people need to see these symbols past recent history and the assumptions they bring.
The Eastern symbol of good luck has the lines going in the counter clockwise direction. The symbol an be found through the world as good luck, even in native American writings. Hilter stole a lot of other cultures symbols to try and empower his aryan rise of conquest.
Leaving out the orientation, the basic shape is a very old symbol in more than one culture. Even the U.S. 45th infantry division had a swastika shoulder patch which was meant as a tribute to Native Americans. They went to a Thunderbird symbol in the 1930s because the Nazis were using the swastika.
Sadly, this is why a lot of games back in the 80’s and 90’s, like Zelda and Pokemon, were censored and flipped it around a bit or put something else in. Hell, they did the same thing with One Piece and one of Whitebeard’s logos because Western audiences couldn’t figure that out…
Context Sedine!! It is a common mistake. As the Nazi symbol was reversed and angled. Old film technology however did display it backwards on occasions. Photography reverse images. Back in 73 I was sitting in German beer hall listening to a group of men singing Hitler Youth songs…..I mentioned something to which one replied…..these are the only songs we know!
There was a big foofaraw over a face mask that turned Trump’s name into a (negative space) swastika. Several people claimed it was anti-Semitic; I felt it was saying Trump is anti-Semitic. But judge for yourself.
Very good temple entrance drawing there. They obviously hadn’t got as far as the point where you have to take you shoes off. This is great, can’t wait for tomorrow.
I was watching a kung fu movie and there was a big blue swastika painted on a wall. I knew why it was there, but I still couldn’t stop myself from wondering what kinda Nazis would use a blue swastika?

The Nazis used the version with the arms bent to the right. Have they managed to permanently damage the OK sign yet?
