I would sit at a desk or table with the multibutton phone (shhh, not sure where my dad got a switchboard type phone from or why he got it other than for me to play with), paper, pencils, pens, old blank tax forms, adding machine (pre calculators) and play office. “Answer” the phone, add up numbers, write notes, etc.
