It seems like cartoon shows like The Simpsons or Family Guy have recurrent themes where a character does something randomly stupid that results in something exploding.
I’ve tried to control a yo-yo, but couldn’t get it to zip briskly without twisting up. Spud may be a schlemiel or a karma magnet, but he’s not a klutz if he can do Round the World.
Spud reminds me of a character from Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency – a taxi driver who was ALWAYS being rained on. Spud is like the God of Rare Occurrences.
