I’ve never seen an infant being big enough to be able to look over the shoulder. Which is why some mothers put them in the front and turn them facing forward rather than toward their mothers so they could see the world. April is still a small infant so she wouldn’t be able to see over the shoulder. I know this is a comic and Lynn was trying to make a funny…however, she drew realistic humans so draw accordingly.
While I normally think that Elly is a little strange for constantly carrying April on her back while she is working around the house, I have to admit that it has created a good situation for Michael to make fun of his mother’s odd working habits. It reminds me a little of the old horror movie “The Thing with Two Heads” starring Ray Milland and Rosey Greer from the 1970s.
Why can’t the boy eat something if he is hungry? My kids were always hungry when they got home from school and I had food for them. Elly is cruel to starve her child for no reason.
spoiler alert: Mike eventually grows up, gets married, has kids of his own and discovers how much FUN it is to try to turn them into decent human beings!

Somebody’s asking for it, or as my mother would have put it, “Michael’s cruising for a bruising!”

Good grief, is she still carrying April around? I want to know if she did the same with her older ones.
