Sign reads: DOUBLE FEATURE NOW SHOWING Nancy: I got my shoes mixed up in the movies.
Did people used to take off their shoes in movie theatres?
The rendering of Nancy in panel #2 has me imagining Nancy as a walking, three-dimensional windup toy, wearing the shoes drawn in the panel.
Not “clown shoes” just regular day-to-day walking around shoes as Bushmiller has drawn them in the panel.
I wonder who had feet small enough to fit into Nancy’s shoes?
How did you manage that, Nancy?
Nancy came back with more sole than she left with!
And I thought it was the movie that stunk
Ernie must have had an off-day when he drew this. Too bad he’s not around to explain it.
I like how Nancy is apparently the only kid in the theatre.
Who got her tiny shoes? …
So who got your tiny ones.
