That works fine in the open, where wind and moving inhibits the build up of dangerous aerosol-concentrations. But not in an elevator or other closed environment, even if you’re just “passing through”.
Welcome to 2020, “Year of the NY/NJ Epidemic.” Why do you suppose everything happens in the northeast corridor?
The Center For Disease Control defines “close contact” as: “If you have been in close contact, such as within 6 feet of a person with documented SARS-CoV-2 infection for at least 15 minutes.”
With this as a testing guideline I think J and acquaintance are pretty safe.
Speaking seriously, I wonder how long it will be before people decide that the enforcers can’t get everyone and massive noncompliance quickly sweeps the nation.
My church is having services tomorrow for the first time since March (with masks, etc..) and I want to go. But – I just read an article that on a scale of safe to dangerous, attending church is one of the worse things you can possibly do in terms of contracting the virus. I don’t know what to do. (I’m very much compromised for a few reasons – not good if I get it)
Wear protection for your eyes. The virus can be carried on the air too. i never go anywhere without my mask on. I wear wrap around sunglasses for eye protection.
The masks are not needed except for use by tyrants who want to keep control over the weak minded. There has been over whelming proof that they are not needed, and that all this hiding away has not helped in any way. I expect to get a lot of hate and curses.
The next time you need surgery, tell your surgeon s/he and the entire operating team can forego their masks then, since there is “overwhelming proof” that they are not needed.

Things could become interesting.

You cant catch the flu from casual contact like that.
mistercatworks about 4 years ago
No, you turn around and go get your masks. Can’t hold your breath all day. THAT would be hazardous to your health.

Pretend it’s 1968 and and the Hong Kong flu pandemic is going on (it was just a bad flu season), just say hello as you pass by.

Outdoors for a walk by yourself you don’t need a mask, but you do need to keep your distance from other people.

I’ve been saying since the beginning “It’s not about you, it’s about who you might give it to.” That’s my story, and I’m sticking to it.

If you can get the Covid19 virus while walking down the street and passing by someone on a nice day, then we are all doomed.
