I’ve always been picky about what I will eat and was fat for most of my life. I don’t like any sauces on food except tomato sauce and brown or turkey gravy – no salad dressings, no oil, no vinegar, no pickling, no cream sauce and no whatever else there is to put on food. I don’t eat fish and the only seafood I eat is peeled boiled or steamed shrimp. I don’t particularly like beef or pork – prefer chicken or turkey. I also don’t like skin on my food or for it to be on bones. I like raw vegetables and many cooked ones – as long as no sauces or dressings on them. Don’t like fried food. Don’t like butter. My favorite meal is peanut butter (no jelly of course – just peanut butter) on white bread. When I went to school I would have half a pb sandwich – “no bones” (crusts). Since we started staying home in mid March I have had a (whole, with crusts) peanut butter sandwich for lunch every day.

Yet – when I was in 5th grade my mother had to buy me a Girl Scout leader’s uniform as I was too fat for a Junior Scout uniform. When I got married I had to have a custom made wedding gown. On top of being fat I am also short – 5’1". So I wore adult sized clothing in 5th grade – but I have to wear children’s shoes and gloves as an adult. Husband was diagnosed with Diabetes in mid 1990s and we both went on a diet. I lost somewhere over 75 lbs in several steps from then until start of this year and kept it off until March of this year. Since March I have lost another 12 pounds since March while staying home and am only about 20-30 lbs above what I should weigh. So just because someone is fat does not mean that they sit around eating junk food all the time.
