My family had one of those. It was roomy, but ugly and a piece of junk.

I’m not a car guy by any stretch. But when I Google’d that, I found it to be one of the ugliest cars I’ve ever seen >_>

I owned a fully tricked out 1971 GremlinX and while I endured all the jokes about having lost my rear end I put almost 200,000 miles on it before I sold it. One of the best cars I have ever owned – you couldn’t kill that engine!

I bought it brand new for $1,400 – list price was $2,700 but I got a $1,300 trade-in for my 1969 Triumph Spitfire convertible. I sold it six years later for $800!

I kinda like it – at least it’s different from all the cookie cutter grey cars out there now.

Loved mine. Except the smacking the starter with a hammer when it froze up in the winter.

AMC will eat $300 a month in repairs easy, or it will run damn near forever with damn near everything broken.

Friend of mine in high school had a Pacer. We all agreed that the best use for one was to turn it over, cut off the chassis, and put fish in it.

Had a used Pinto in the early 80’s…I told everyone that if the Russians ever invaded I’d do my part and back it up into a T80.

If he got it started, that’s pretty darned good for a Pacer.

Still, I’m jealous. I think Pacers are cool, and I’d like to have one.

The vintage car owner’s biggest fear is getting creamed by some inattentive moron in an SUV.

The Pacers were always questionable. The City of L.A. bought a number of these for fleet use. Didn’t last long because they couldn’t make it up the hills downtown and around the city.
