Was that at the same time they had to quit calling ketchup a vegetable?
Maybe she will be lucky and it will be salmon this time.
My favorite fruit pie is chocolate.
I’d love to be able to buy tuna pies!
In England, and sometimes in Canada, you can buy meat pies, sausage rolls, and pasties
(No… not that kind! These pasties are little pastry turnovers with savory fillings).
I’ve always wished we had savory, portable snacks like that in the US…
Ours all seem to be sweets or a small, wrapped piece of cheese.
In Hispanic restaurants you can sometimes find empanadas… or piroshki in Russian markets…
but those are intended to be eaten hot and fresh,.
A relatively shelf stable pie with meat or tuna, if they’re well made, might be a nice treat in a lunchbox!
Unless, of course, they’re made by the same company that makes the cheap fruit pies… with that gluey sugar and cornstarch filling…
some with flecks of apple, others with flecks of tuna.
Yuck.
I love the Celtic festivals or Renaissance Fairs because you can always get meat pies and other lovely hand held treats there.
Could be worse…… tuna flavored tofu.
not a real fruit pie but a generic dollar store. lol sounds like the best meal shes had in a while
“bellied up to the Warren Buffett” — great line!
I thought mine was jam wrapped in cardboard, which has no expiration date.
