Dogs are not just man’s best friend.

I don’t think the cats would appreciate that if I did it too.

Hachi was as loyal as Greyfriars Bobby. :)

Given that this dog has likely been neutered, adoption is all that’s left! >B^)

Dogs are such a blessing.

Animals are so sweet and thoughtful.

You may laugh, but years ago, our two dogs adopted a stray who had been dumped out on our road; they played chase through the fence, licked ears, and just got along famously. No one local seemed to know him and the choke chain around his neck was so tight it had to be cut off with bolt cutters so we weren’t at all interested in returning him to his former situation (more like protecting him from it). He didn’t have sense to stay out of the road, so we took him into our fenced yard to stay with our crew and named the fierce-looking fellow “Clyde”. He might have looked like a rottweiler on the outside, but on the inside, he was pure marshmallow fluff. Beau and Tina already loved him, so we knew he was in his forever home.

Is our sweet Winky getting a friend?!!!!

I watched that movie years ago, and I still tear up when I think about it.

The real story, not the Richard Gere movie, is even better.

There are deserving humans in need of adoption too. A harder sell than an appealing animal. Best is when both come together at the shelter to take care of one another.
