In the town next to mine, population about 90,000 now, a lot of Iraqi, Chaldaean and other refugees were settled after the Iraqi and Afghanistan wars. The original inhabitants there were regular white Americans, and there was some years of adjustment. The Middle Easterners brought their cuisine and opened up lots of restaurants and grocery stores for their own people, but after years, the other people of the town embraced their food if not 100% of their culture. About 30% of the population now are foreign born or families of immigrants, largely Chaldaean Catholic or Iraqi but also Somali, Syrian, or Turkish.Overall there was little racial/cultural tension even from the beginning, and still very little.

I have to stop taking this so seriously. I feel so sorry for the poor guy. It’s only a comic. It’s only a comic. It’s only a comic.
