When I was letting my dog out of the Car this morning, I noticed I needed to wipe her off with a towel. Leaving, I noticed a slug in my path and made a note to avoid stepping on it when I returned. Of course, I forgot all about it. When I returned, I wiped Carmy off and as I was walking her to the house, I wondered if the slug would be a sticky mess on the sole of my shoe. I looked. No mess. I walked back to the garage and the slug had disappeared. I looked all around and didn’t see it. Fantasizing, I imagined that slugs only move slowly when people Are around, while they scamper when alone
