Chuck is a little rough in spellchecking young Sally. Plus it is a good bet Sally might get an autographed picture in return while if Chuck ever sent for an autograph, he would probably get a rock sent back to him or have his name misspelt if he ever did get a response as the world of Chuck is the classic example of Murphy’s Law at work in our world.
When my older daughter was about 6 she wrote a “Happy Birthday” letter to Taylor Swift. At the last moment, I inserted a regular self-addressed, stamped envelope…not expecting anything (you can’t put an 8×10 Glossy in a regular envelope). Almost 6 months later, that envelope came back…and in it was a computer-printed letter & picture! The letter (obviously form) was extremely Taylor-esque, but across the top, in black marker, was: “Dear Deborah, Thank you so much! Love you, XOXO Taylor”. (My daughter’s first reaction: “She spelled my name right!!!”) To this day, 12 years later, that letter is one of my daughter’s prized possessions.
Charles Schulz you are grate ha ha, noreally you are really great I don’t how you do it every day but please keep it going, Thanks for a great comic strip !
23 years ago, my English Professor said she was seeing more mistakes like that. It was the result of people using word processors, and the ability to use spell check was making them overconfident.
A Charlie Brown Christmas and A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving will air on over the air TV this year, after all, and, on the last station anyone would expect: PBS.
I’m reminded that in the 1980’s there was a Sunday strip where Sally was misspelling words in a letter she was writing to a movie critic she didn’t like.

I’m not really a spelling/grammar nazi, but the things on cars are BRAKES not BREAKS!! For some reason that one irritates me.

Charlie Brown is doing her a favor by giving her a chance to correct the letter before she mails it. Just imagine the TV star writing back.
“Dear Little Girl, I’m sorry, but I only send my picture to people who think I’m great.”

I wouldn’t take it too hard there, Sally. I see the same thing in college research papers, news articles, and ‘professionally’ published books.

Sally must be a fan of the YULE LOG show at Christmas time.
