Performed nearly a thousand weddings, and have never had anyone try to interrupt the ceremony. Hell, the whole ‘speak now…’ line is a Hollywood creation.

I have officiated at many weddings myself. We do have the “speak now” line, but it reads:

“If any of you can show just cause why they may not lawfully be married, speak now; or else for ever hold your peace.”

    Emphasis on the word “lawfully.”

He dumped her and started dating his soon to be wife. Looks like she’s going to have a bit of ketchup on her face though.

The way the Twins have been doing this year, I hope a pitching scout was at the wedding to sign her up. :)

Why bother trying to find the right words when a ’mater to the head can say it all?

runar, ours is the Episcopal liturgy – and it’s definitely not optional for us. This isn’t to say that all traditions use it – but neither is it just a cliche.
