My To-Do lists are right where I left them after writing them… only now there are books and a couple of DVD cases on top of them. I’ll dig them up… later. After another season of my favorite soap opera.
One wall in my living room is decorated in post-its, notes and lists. So is the side of one bookcase. The colors are very festive. I call the style “Early Overwhelmed.”
To Do lists are exhausting. You write it down, post it and see all the other things To Do all over the wall and it just saps your energy thinking about it.
I have found it more beneficial to make a “Done” list as I go through the day. It shows me what kind of tasks ACTUALLY have priority in my life without the unnecessary nagging and guilt of persistent TO DO notes.

I broke my list addiction
At one point I had so many lists that I made a list to keep track of them

I can empathize. When I have lots of things to do and start thinking about it, I sometimes get so overwhelmed that I end up not doing anything either.

The only list that matters is what kind of ice cream you have tonight.

Yup—I, too, am a list maker. The lists can become overwhelming if you’re not careful, too …
