It’s Monday in the village again, seems to happen every seven days. (^.^) A balmy 28 this morning, predicted to be 51 with sunny skies. (^.^)
Well, Happy Thanksgiving or is it Columbus Day, maybe it’s Indigenous Peoples Day. I get so confused. Perhaps we should celibate Crossing the Land Bridge Day. Sorry, I getting a little sarcastic here, but, they drive me NUTS. All done now.
No mail today so it’s straight out to the quick stop and back. We will have to go somewhere to ether get the needed part for our oven or a new oven, can’t shut it off.
To the whole kit-n-Kabutal of ya have a great day and may God give ya all His blessings.
I agree with Mark….too many days off for the saddest reasons. Why are we celebrating Columbus when we know that America was ‘discovered’ hundreds of years previously. Harrumph!
Nothing new going on today. Just a bunch of housekeeping. Mainly the kitchen. I had Jack open some cans yesterday….olives and tomato sauce (for enchiladas). Well, I drained the olives and carried them to my work station along with the sauce. Well, the olives made it, but the sauce was all over the cabinets and floor! My hand just wouldn’t grasp it.
We’re getting a late start with the housekeepers this morning. They are an hour late which is very unusual.
Rita, when my hands are refusing to cooperate and grasp, I find that balancing the can on the palm of one hand and steadying it with the other helps to reduce the mess. No grasping involved until you are within an inch of the surface where it’s needed. I hope that helps.
We just took delivery of some bottles of Balsamic Vinegar from Sedona, AZ. Their “traditional” is very good, and some of the flavored ones are terrific. We’re trying a new one this time: Maple Syrup flavored BV. I opened it just enough to taste it and it is really good. We like to put the BV and some olive oil in a shallow dish and dip Italian bread into it. Mmmmm good. If anyone is interested, the website is divineoliveoils.com and yes, they sell flavored olive oils and even offer suggestions in pairing them with the vinegars and what to serve with them.
Not much happening today except I will probably make another run to the recycling center. I’ve decided to do that every two weeks when the housekeepers come. It’s a bother, but I feel better about recycling these things instead of just trashing them.
We’re looking at 90 today but it’s only 83 outside at 11:30. So far the doors and windows are open for the breezes. I did not turn the thermostat down to 74 for the housekeepers today and so far they are not complaining. Our AQI is only 38, back into the green like the rest of Nevada. Oh what a difference a breeze makes.
