    Good Snowy morning, Vagabonds,

It’s been snowing all night, and as near as I can guess it looks like between 4 and 5". There was some wind blowing it around, and it’s only starting to get light (8:01). It was 12 when I got up, and the high of the day is supposed to be 9……a regular heat wave.

I took the day off yesterday. Made a really good skillet roasted small pork loin for dinner yesterday. (It was actually one of those double wide loin chops that you are supposed to use to stuff.) There are two servings in each one, and that and a salad made a nice and easy dinner for us.

    Enjoy your Saturday. xoxo

    Hola, Vagabonds…

It’s in the low 80s here this morning, and sunny for now…but it’s been mostly rainy for a week and more rain is predicted later today, tonight, tomorrow and into Monday. Also, there is a new “disturbance” just south of Cuba and the Yucatan…with a 90% chance of cyclone formation within 48 hrs (looks like it’s between longitude 80W & 85W, and near latitude 20N) Here in subtropical South Florida, we’ll be watching the updates on this disturbance at nhc.noaa.gov

We’ll already soaked, and some of the low-lying areas near the bays or large waterways are already have street flooding, etc., due to high water tables combined with rain and the King Tides. It’s sad to see on the news…the folks out in front of their homes waving and holding signs trying to get drivers to slow down so the rolling vehicles don’t create wakes that slosh into people’s homes.

Some of the Miami/Miami Beach areas have an elevation of only 4 ft. I’m at 22 ft. – a veritable MOUNTAIN! (by Florida standards, not by Montana standards; actually, they call it a ridge)

Trivia: One of the former directors of the National Hurricane Center retired to Lake Placid, Florida. Lake Placid is considered to be “hurricane proof,” being away from both coasts, in the center of the state, and smack on a 150-mile-long ridge. The saying is that if/when if the entire Florida peninsula ever goes under water, the last piece of dry ground will be the Lake Wales Ridge aka the “Central Highlands.” As one of the newspapers put it, in a 2018 story about Florida’s highest point, "Only in Florida would an area 300 feet above sea level be called a ‘highlands.’ " The ridge extends from Lake Placid, north to Clermont. Clermont (sort of rhymes with Vermont) is due west of Orlando.

    Good morning, Vagabonds.

Would one of you lovely people be kind enough to send some of that rain our way, please. We’re now at day 187 without measurable rainfall.

It got down below 60 last night for the first time this fall. We both wore jeans instead of shorts for our morning walk. The temp was 61 then. For us that is cold. (Apologies to Rita) Our high is supposed to be 85 and partly cloudy. When we were out it wasn’t even partly sunny, but the sun has now peeped out a bit.

I have found the spot to work on my painting! Directly under the chandelier in the library is perfect. It is supposed to be the dining room, so the fixture is a bit low but that makes it great for doing such a project.

I have switched my Avatar from Michael and me to my two boys. Mike is on the left and Chris on the right. This is also the photo that is my paint-by-number project.

Today’s agenda is pretty clear. I need to study my Sunday school lesson for tomorrow. I start my stint as a teacher at first service. I will let you know how it went.

Everyone be safe and have a blessed day.

    Good evening, Vagabonds.

Cold weather has arrived early here this year. The day started out at 39 and our high was only 46. And it is still wet with more coming. I would gladly share some of this rain with you, Jan, however the wind is coming from the north west and I cannot convince it to go west.

    Everyone have wonderful evening.
