I have a relative like this. He was badly injured on the job. He could have used the time off to improve his skill set and get a better job, but he is fixated on the one he can no longer do. When we mention jobs he could easily improve his skills to obtain, he says “I’m not good enough for that.” Well….that’s true until you do some minor re-training and get a certification.
