As much as I work at a grocery store, I remember one shift coming across grapes that taste like cotton candy. As for Edison — on whom I used to do a report in fifth grade — of course he didn’t invent the light bulb; he invent the incandescent lamp!
Edison DID invent the first filament bulb. His TEAM perfected it leading to what we refer to as an incandescent bulb. I am all for giving credit where it is due, so how about just adding to the list of people that worked on it.
A cable channel recently aired the movie: The Current War a 2017 American historical drama film inspired by the 19th-century competition between Thomas Edison and George Westinghouse over which electric power delivery system would be used in the United States.
This is not satisfying. No explanation is given for how Thomas Edison, who did over 10,000 experiments with light bulbs, did not invent the light bulb.

They’re selling the cotton candy grapes in our local Kroger store. I was surprised, they really do taste like cotton candy.

That’s a half-lie that’s been running around the world.
Edison may not have invented the first light bulb, but he did invent the first practical light bulb – one that didn’t burn out in a couple of seconds.

The axes weren’t necessarily crudely made. If they were used a lot the head could eventually loosen and fly off if they were not properly maintained.

I guess Ripley doesn’t want to tell us the name of that variety of grape. He’s too shy.

I can see axes flying off the handle making people “fly off the handle”.

no, Thomas Edison did not invent the light bulb….he invented the lamp to screw it into

Thomas Edison may have not invented the light bulb but he had so many ideas and subsequently so many comic
light bulbs going on over his head, it’s easy to think he invented the light bulb in the first place…..
which brings the question, before light bulbs were invented , what would indicate that an inventor had an idea?

Edison took credit for a lot of things that he didn’t invent. He was a rat bastard of the highest order and not a nice person to deal with…

I’m not sure I’ve ever heard it said that Edison invented the light bulb.
Take care, may the Ford be with you, and gesundheit.

Thomas Edison invented the first practical light bulb but had no place to plug it in.
I once tried to make grapes taste like cotton candy but wound up with wine.
A very few that reply on Ripley’s comic most days inexplicably flew off the handle at Jasonsnakelover’s very clever replies.

Only the 19th century, yet axe heads flying off handles go back millennia. There’s an Old Testament story about one.

Thomas Edison didn’t invent a lot of things; he thought of a need, passed it on to his people, and then took credit when it worked.
