Rub the outside of the pumpkin with hot pepper. (powdered cayenne mixed with a little vegetable oil works best) squirrels hate the smell of the pepper and will leave it alone.
Hot pepper flakes or powder mixed with your birdseed will also keep them out of bird feeders, and birds love the pepper seeds, so it’s a double win for them.
In my 59+ years of existence, being around squirrels for most of those years, I have never seen squirrels eat any of my pumpkins or jack-o-lanterns. My pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns have remained untouched by any wildlife!

Try plastic next time. Opps, forgot they will gnaw on plastic as well. At least it is not as tasty and easy to digest.

NO! You can’t leave the stoop until you finish your dinner. Don’t you know there are starving squirels in China?

If you don’t want them to eat it, then why do you leave food out for the squirrels?

These squirrels are just as bad as the squirrels in Mutts.
