They can defame the opposition all they want, but all they got is: “Because, I said so. That’s why.” An America without borders (barring that outside nations conform to our beliefs and freedoms) ceases to be the America of the Constitution and subject to civil protest and revolution. Si, se puede!

There are people that want open borders, but it certainly ain’t the Democrats. It began with Reagan…

Hey! FearPup and Harley on the same day! Where’s ANandy and StewieZ? . But seriously, NoFear, it’s not “because I said so,” it’s more like today’s Frazz - “Ignotum Ignotius.” . Wikipedia has good article on it. The arguments on why the mere promise of government bailout is starting to turn the banking industry and the economy around get pretty technical and arcane. . Picture this - if the government collected no taxes and spent nothing, we’d basically be Outer Mongolia. Compare that to when Eisenhower built the interstate highway system - that single govt funded project has provided the basis for interstate shipping and economic growth for five decades.

When they all refuse Social Security and Medicare and unemployment benefits and the Public School system and don’t care what shape the roads are in, and are not concerned about having electricity and clean water, then I’ll take them seriously.

    longtime, deadheadzan: I agree.

Do you know what they call nations without functioning governments?

Rogue nations? Countries run by warlords? Absolutely are uncivilized.

Longtimecomicsfan, if Obama is successful he’ll have put a stake through the heart of conservatism. I don’t think he’ll have enough time and he’s already alienating some of his own voters by pandering. But if he’s successful much will be forgiven ; and I for one will have had about enough of lying cowardly republicans…That’s my two cents or less…I still would like to see our sovereignty safeguarded; Again, what are we if not a distinct nation ruled by the action of a Republic founded on the precepts delineated in our Constitution? We wont last long as economic trading partner with our morals and our government for sale to the highest bidder or loudest voting bloc. That’s one cent more.

    “The left is scared.”

Only in your world, stew. Only in your world.

“How could they have ever thought that so many would protest Jackazz and .gov this soon.”

No, they’re not protesting Obama. They’re protesting Bush era policies. Try again.

“Already he is doing worse than Carter.”

    Huh?

“Besides, dissent is patriotic, right, liberal hypocrites?”

Yes. Dissent is patriotic. Lying is not.

Let’s look at the facts folks.

First, the neo-cons shot themselves in the foot ( or another part of the anatomy, if you like ) by naming the participants in these events ‘tea-baggers’.

    Strike One

Then, it came out that these so called ‘grass roots’ rallies were acually the creation of Fox News and any number of lobbyist funded right-wing organizations.

    Strike Two.

And then Finally….the turnout for these events numbered at most in the thousands….not hundreds of thousands, not tens of thousands, thousands; in some cases, only a few hundred people showed up for these things.

    STEEEERIKE Three! Yerrrrrrr OUT!

I’m afraid the noise of the Tax and spend liberal’s runaway spending train-wreck finally has awakened the silent majority….. not even Jimmy Carter faced headwind like this so early…..and we know how that disaster ended…Stay tuned.
