I prefer the Weller WES51 soldering kit myself. The digital version WESD51 is also nice.

Never would have taken Sam for a tinkerer… What is he up to? I also wonder what his old man is doing there.

Seeing Clo-chi half hidden like this seems like a perfect premise for a horror movie…

Sam, that’s a 700°F soldering iron you just dropped on your bench after nearly tossing it into your eye. Pick it up before there’s a fire.

Do not startle a man at his workbench.

He is building a mechanical Hubbs that will replace the poor man beside his wife so that Hubbs can go out and play.

The sudden scene change made me twitch! Hopefully we won’t leave Hubbs in despair for too long!

Sam has time to pick up the soldering iron from his bench. That soldering iron has a good collar on it so that the tip is not touching the surface when its down. This is a great detail, that BeaR included in the picture.

I love the attention to details here. The 5S peg board behind the work bench, the sparse, but useful tools hung with care. Hacksaw, two wrenches, a hammer and a multi-purpose screwdriver with replaceable bits. Two tool boxes under the table with power tools maybe?

Right down to the soldering iron, old school model, it has an insulation cone with holes in it; some of the older ones had a manifold (Metal) over near the handle, and I’ve seen a few with a ceramic cone like this one looks. A straight tapered tip.

That Iron did look like it almost gave Sam a tear drop tattoo under his left eye…I guess he could have gotten some prison cred with that.

Even Clochi haphazardly covered on his table/stand with a box with his name on it. What is in the box, trinkets and tribute for Clochi?
