My mom and sister were trying to open a jar many years ago – my mom held the bottom and my sister was twisting the jar lid. The whole top of the jar broke off and my sister wound up slitting her wrist on the broken jar top. Fortunately it was not deep and just required some pressure for a little while and a nice, sort of tight bandage.

I think they’re putting those lids on extra tight. Much harder to open than they use to be.

A wide rubber band works on tight lids.

With those colors, he should be easy to find if he wanders off.

Running the lid under hot water works.

They make appliances now that do that. I’m my wife’s automatic jar lid opener.

I recently bought a new jar opener that works like a charm. It’s the best one I’ve ever owned.
