The thing with devices is that the older ones COULD be repaired by Pluggers. With the newer devices, it’s not worth the hassle and expense. :/

It reminds me of the little B&W TV I used to watch cartoons on after school. One night my dad said I could watch for two hours. I watched for an hour, then I took a shower, meaning to watch the final half hour afterwards. That made him angry, for some reason. The only man who ever got mad when his kid wanted to watch less TV! And he’s still crazy.

Remember going to Radio Shack to test the tubes?

Surprising amount of ‘fix it’ and ‘how to’ on Youtube. Videos have saved me a small fortune. Repaired my water heater, two computer monitors and my septic alarm.

I just want to fix myself another delicious dinner. Now, let’s see, where are those picanicers camping today…

Sometimes all you have to do is push the reset button !

I had a computer about three upgrades ago that kept crashing. A little research showed that one of the electrolytic capacitors in the motherboard was too small, which made the voltage to the second CPU unstable. Replacing it was “interesting”.

Only with items older than 20 years. All the newer stuff requires specialty tools or doesn’t come apart.

Idunno, I value my time a lot at my age, and I like supporting the local fixit guy.

If.. you bought every tool ever shown on TV.. you just have to try them out.

A Plugger will never pay for anything he thinks he can fix himself! Until he’s tried to fix it and failed!

Would a digital converter box even work on a TV like that?

but cant so he puts it in the garage with his other failures.

Old TV’s like that won’t even pick up the new signals.

This! It drives my wife just a little nuts.
