Jeff does not get sick. He makes other people sick.
I think the doctor has what Jeff has with no hope of a cure.
I used to wonder as a kid whether doctors went to see another doctor if they were sick or whether they could take care of themselves and know exactly what was wrong.
They do say that doctors make the worst patients though.
