    I think it’s because, the older you get, the more clearly you see how you screwed up. I’m in a constant state like grandpa is in the first panel. I don’t think there’s any cure (besides a lobotomy) and it’ll only get worse. Growing old is such a joy. :-)

    So true. My sister and I were talking about that. Those stupid bits of memories can be embarrassing or regretful or just irritating. Out of the blue they just pop up.

    most of the old memories for me are the ones of my loved ones, especially my late spouse, who i have had the best memories of and yes some were embarrassing but great memories anyway.

    Ive read that as we age and lose our ability to store recent memory, long past memory is more likely to surface

    I know in my case, the oldest memories have a strong emotional factor
