Sally spent all week telling everyone she didn’t want any presents but she hangs up a sock, that is larger than her foot, for Santa to fill with goodies! And is hammering a nail into the fireplace to hang it. Wood fireplace? That will burn the house down when the fire is lit!
I have a Christmas stocking I bought from a home machine knitter, using all her odds and ends of left over yarn. It is red, green , yellow and white with many rows of different machine knitted Christmas designs on it. She only had the one. It is probably almost 5 feet long. My kids loved when I would get it out every year. They would crawl in it feet first, and take turns crawling inch worm style on the floor. It is tightly knitted, and still looks great. I usually hang it on the porch light out front of the house.

Now, I know where all those missing socks have gone. Mom used to tell me they went to live with Jesus. (Thanks, Erma!)
