    So people are really thin skinned when their names are mispronounced, others like Jamaal and I are used to it, and just correct it and move on.

    My last name is only three letters long, but is very commonly mispronounced. Many years ago I learned that when someone asked my last name I should SPELL it out. Only after I saw that they had written it down correctly should I pronounce it.

    I remember the BBC show Keeping Up Appearances where the main character insisted that her name be pronounced Bouquet, but it was spelled Bucket.
