While it’s nice to get a letter or a drawing in the mail, I really enjoy Facetiming with my grandchildren. And now in the pandemic, it’s the only way to visit anyway. Also, through Facebook, I can see photos that my kids post of their (and grandkid’s) day to day lives. Things that I would not be privy to in a letter or even with a short FaceTime visit. We grandparents nowadays are very lucky for technology, even if some of us (me), struggle to use it/understand it sometimes. LOL

Grandmas would LOVE a note like that. Same with Grandpas…..

All the grandmas and great grandmas I know are quite computer literate.

Most of my email is from vendors, as is my regular mail. Communication is not really a strong point of the electronic society. Message tidbits are not the same thing as engaging with other people. Right now, the most grammatically correct and extended messages come from scammers on the dating sites. If you’re looking for pen pal, scammers are your best option, provided you don’t give them ANY personal information or money.

What’s most impressive is she actually knows how to use a pen. Or is she watching a You Tube tutorial on that?

I knew two people of grandma age, one was a friend and the other was my stepmother. My friend had a computer her kids bought for her so she could correspond with her grandkids, but she was afraid to touch it for fear of messing something up. My stepmother bought her own computer after my Dad, who would rather play golf than play with a computer died, and she and loved writing to her grandkids and her widowed friends around town. Computers are best for those who understand them.
