When I was a baby cartoonist growing up in the 80s, Cathy felt like what being an adult would be like. I loved her, and I looked forward to an adulthood of dreading trying on bathing suits, loving chocolate, and getting advice from my Mom on A-Z (so far, adulthood has lived up to the expectations! Lol!)
…To watch Cathy going through something I’m going through now in new strips, it’s been so comforting at such a hard time. I look forward to checking if there’s a new one every day and I’ve teared up reading so many of these. And laughed too! Lol! But folks will understand what I mean, these touch on a lot of moments we’re all having and feel like we’re the only one until Cathy shows us it’s only human. (Ack!)
And from a character and writing perspective, wow, these are so perfectly on point for Cathy, it never missed a beat. They’re terrific.
I hoped adulthood would be like Cathy when I was a kid, and now adulthood is real and weird and very sad at the moment, but Cathy is there too getting through it in her good humor and making me (and everyone else reading) feel less alone and more allowed to have moments of “Ack!” and ice cream and hope… I love these strips so much. Thank you.

Boy, I wish we had a “like” button for cartoons instead of just comments. I love this one!! :-)

You can also eat all of the leftover Halloween candy while holding your breath.

I haven’t exhaled in 2 days and counting… But I have inhaled a whole package of cookies.

I could eat a quart of ice cream , but not a whole pie. Just pick your poison to get through it.

Cathy nails it again. That’s how so many of us feel.
I just bought my can of pumpkin pie filling . . . supposedly for Thanksgiving dinner, but I am hoping to celebrate earlier.

I picked up a wine advent calendar at the store today. Countdown to Thanksgiving! Or maybe the 12 days of the election?

I’ve held off on the champagne, but I drank half a bottle of wine instead.

Yup. I, too, am waiting to exhale as we wait on results. Not sure I can wait much longer …

If I had had a pie in the house that day, I probably would have eaten the whole thing in one sitting.
