Heh, I’ve had 72 years of acting like an idiot and never thought of that one. Good man, Wallace.

It’s a good thing boy and girl shoe sizes match.

First time I ever recall seeing a speech balloon wrapped around an inset drawing. You never know what novelty you’re gonna discover in a Will Henry cartoon.

At that age, aren’t most shoe sizes the same?

Gotta say, Wallace the Brave is where I come for my daily shot of pre-COVID nostalgia.

Maybe she will be nicer than Amelia, although Amelia will always be more interesting.

Believe it or not, in about 1957 or 8 that was a real thing. My best friend and I had the same size shoe, so each had one white buck (the old guys here will know) and one regular shoe. Seemed daring at the time.

My 7th grade friend Nelda and I switched entire outfits one day at school (while redressing after P.E.)

I’m not complaining how Amelia is a meanie to Spud, but their elementary school experience is by no means universal nor does it repeat itself outside America. I’m touched by the way Wallace makes friends with a girl, a classmate. Liberated? I see no need to use a feminist filter.
