Bench warmers should watch the game closely, to pick the position they would most like to play. After they have decided, they should study the person who holds that spot to see what makes him so good. Does he hold his feet in a certain way? Watch his throwing. Does he have some special tricks to fake out the other player? Watch everything he does, then round up some friends to get a game going and try out the tricks you learned. Keep watching every game you can and keep working out. You’ll get a lot faster and stronger. After that happens, you’ll be playing full time.
The most successful people believe in themselves. Faith of this kind of like a water pump: it sometimes needs to be primed. Very often someone else has to believe in you to get it started. However, there comes a time when the training wheels have to come off.
Too often, I see people who are still using training wheels. They need the constant affirmation of others to evaluate their self-worth.

I think it’s even cooler that Peter thinks what his Dad did was cool.

Hope is a tease designed to prevent us from accepting reality. He’s a bad player and should accept it.

Your Dad loves you no matter what, Peter. Be grateful for that.

I preferred golf to football in high school. But, I rode the soccer bench a few times.
