I had an old Chevy Biscayne with a tiny chain link steering wheel that would come right off the column because the threads on the column were stripped never came off while on the road thank God.
In an old gag a man is behind the wheel driving while his wife, sitting next to him, constantly torments him.At one point the man takes off the steering wheel and tells her: “Here, you drive” .
Back in the 70s, I had a used biodegradable Chevy Vega, one day going down a slight hill, the steering box left the unibody frame, scariest thing, luckily I was able to stop the car, an older farmer was behind me in his tractor, he towed my car up the hill to his place and welded something together to make sure it would get me home. He wouldn’t take anything from me, just told to me to be safe going home, so I thanked him and left. When I got home, I junked the car. Haven’t had a Chevy since!

Quick. Turn on the cruise control. The autopilot function will keep you safe while you call your mechanic. …snort

Nothing like your wife having her own car!

Pretty impressive. In the world of Formula One, you’ve got to pay at least $250,000 for a car with one of those.

If his wife is familiar with the problem, she should know what needs to be done.
