I actually have several hats – mostly souvenirs from various trips or events where they actually were used. However, in the end I was just never quite cool enough to wear them regularly. I know people who are cool enough or eccentric enough to wear hats all the time and I have to admit … I’m a little envious. :-)
Oversized heads make wearing hats difficult because it is much harder to find one that fits without being tight across your forehead (which gives many of us headaches). One size fits most doesn’t apply to us.
One of my many regrets was never getting to go to Dave Brown, the Hatter. That sound weird? He was the guy who did the hats for the movie, “Mulholland Falls.” If you remember that film, you’ll understand. Drove by the place a hundred times but never had the money for a hat. It was a nondescript storefront in a busy street tiny strip mall. He could look at you and get you the perfect hat. Not just a good hat, not just a “you’ll look good in this” hat. A for you, the Perfect hat.
