Before you even consider buying a firearm for self-defense be as certain as you can be that, given the right circumstance, you would be willing to kill someone.
Gun safes. One saved the lives of my three youngest siblings when an intruder armed with a knife couldn’t get Daddy’s guns. Law enforcement caught him in the garage holding one of my brothers hostage, but he was uninjured and the creep got 12 years in prison. Gun safes! Use them!
