Cattle don’t have upper front teeth.

Neither do: Deer, Antelope, Moose, Caribou/Reindeer, Bison, Sheep, Goats, Camels, Llamas, Alpacas, Gnu/Wildebeest, Giraffe Yak, Muskox, Buffalo (Cape and Water) and Rhinoceros.

    Who Gnu?

Once more we find clues in etymology! In French, the generic term for fancy pastries is “viennoiseries” i.e. “Vienna-style stuff”. In German, you get “Wienerbrot” or “Vienna bread” when you want pastry. The croissant is a subset of the generic term. I don’t know if there is a different word for it in Vienna.

And that, kids, is why you never see a cow with a smile on it’s face.

Well, Leatherbacks are the biggest species of sea turtle, so that is believable.

So, was it Marie Antoinette who brought croissants from Vienna to Paris? Was it really, “Let them eat croissants!”?
