Then once he had them believing him, he showed his true colors by taking them all for himself. The sad part is, some of the squirrels still believe him and keep brining the few nuts they still have.

Put all the acorns in one spot and some dog or human will steal them all. Squirrels have horrible memories about where they hid nuts. My gardens, soft ground to bury things, have lots of trees coming up from forgotten squirrel stashes every year.
