You’ll love “mutton”, as it’s really quite tasty. The only problem is that you feel rather sheepish afterward.;-D

1983, on our way to Greece via Yugoslavia I ate mutton for breakfast, lunch and dinner so much that it came out of our ears.

Chicken’s got nuttin’ on my mutton! (Except these days, I don’t eat anything that had “parents”).

Many meals and foods have been refused to be eaten by individuals who are fearful just of its name alone. While mutt can sound like a reference to a dog (mutt) by a child, when the child finds out that mutton describes a lamb, which is another very cute animal, that may not really improve the situation for her eating it……

I would rather die of starvation than eat mutton.

Some call it mutton because some people are sheepish about eating cute little lambs.

There was a derogatory expression in Britain for an older woman trying to act like a younger one…‘Mutton dressed as Lamb.’ It could also be applied to something made to appear newer than it actually was.
