Mistletoe is surprisingly easy to find. It’s growing on a tree in my yard, for example.

You gotta know Da Rulz for mistletoe: pluck one berry for each kiss, discard when the berries are gone.

We had a “Witches Broom” preserved in a large jar. I’d hang it from the ceiling at departmental Christmas parties…

Last week I started putting out the inside decorations – other than in the living room which is still the loom room until tomorrow the 15th. I had put out some of the decorations in the kitchen, dining room and front hall. Husband has not been doing well with staying home (as opposed to me who other than the reason, loves it) and with the reports of a coming snow storm that might be major – which would upset and scare him on its own, coupled with problems with the brakes in our van (if they have to rebuild the brake lines again that’s a couple of thousand dollars we don’t have on hand and will necessitate a trip out of the house to two banks so he can withdraw from his IRA and put it in our checking account) and he was at the point where he was on the verge of crying. I told him to follow him and walked to the front hall and stopped under the ceiling fixture. He was confused. I pointed up at the plastic mistletoe hanging from the light fixture and grabbed him and kissed him.

Did not solve the problems, but for a short while the mistletoe and kiss and helped him.

I remember, as a kid, I tried selling mistletoe on our street. I didn’t sell any.
