Liv, you should have known better. Pets can smell special gifts throughout any amount of wrapping.

All our cats would want is catnip, and they can smell that as soon as we walk in the door with it still in the package

My cats are just happy with the empty boxes. My dog gets into the tearing part like Max here. Since I don’t decorate or have a tree anymore all gifts are stored away for them until it’s time to reveal their surprises :-)

Our Yorkie knew which was his present… and was such a smart little guy that he waited until he was told, Christmas morning, that he could open it. Really miss him.

Gifts do not go under the tree until Santa brings them Christmas Eve!

Actually we buy so few gifts for husband that the tree looked lonesome. I have some bear figurines that I put out at Christmas in the living room. I bought at craft store some of the photo storage boxes that are decorated for Christmas. I store the figurines in the boxes during the year. After I put them out on display, the boxes go under the tree so they look fancy gift boxes with gifts – but are empty other than the tissue paper to wrap the figurines in when the holiday is over.
