There was a strip similar to this one. Calvin was in his snow fort challenging anyone to attack him but there didn’t seem to be anyone to attack him. Calvin went home and said to Mom, “I wish I had more enemies.” Mom replied, “I’m sure you will someday, honey.”
I have to wonder, where are all the kids in the neigbourhood? We know Suzie lives on the same street as Calvin, and that there’s a bunch of kids at his school around his age as well. So logic dictates that they must live in the same general area. But for some reason, we never see those kids interact with Calvin outside of school. Usually, I don’t think about it too much. But after reading today’s strip I just have to wonder why. It seems so strange to me…

I’d have preferred the fourth panel with him still in the fort and Susie sneaking up behind him with a huge snowball.

Pretty much the story of the Battle of Quebec. Why would you think leaving your fort to engage in open combat is a good idea?

When you’re spoiling for some action it is best to go find it instead of waiting for it to come to you.
