I’ve had this happen to me. Leave work and it starts to pour down. Twenty minutes later when I get home and step inside it stops raining…

It seems to always cloud up and rain right at 5pm on Fridays.

Did Amend write/draw these during a period of heavy rain in his area?

Robert Heinlein wrote short story titled “They.” The climactic moment in the character’s life was when he ducked back into his house to get something he forgot and, though it had been raining in the front,, it was dry and sunny in the back.

On my first summer job I rode my bike to work. On more than one occasion on my ride home it would begin to rain as soon as I got off work and stop raining the moment I got home.

There’s a short story by Ray Bradbury about life on another planet where it rains constantly. The main character grew up elsewhere and desperately misses the sun. There is going to be a one-hour break in the rain for the first time in years, and the school bullies lock the main character in a closet for the duration. I was absolutely sobbing when I read it.
