I’ve seen U.S. police dogs that only speak German. I was wondering why the trainer kept shouting something that sounded like “Foose! Foose!”. I later learned “Zu Fuss!” is German for “Heel!”
I always think it’s funny when people tell me their dog responds to his name. I can call their dog “Hassenpfeffer” and he still comes to me. It’s the tone they recognize.

i use to “talk” to my dogs in Italian. that way no one else could command them.
