Thanks to Brian and Red & Rover for this comic strip, and everyone who posts bits of knowledge I learn from and sentiments that touch my heart. Merry Christmas, all! And Happy Birthday to my nephew, our Christmas baby, who loves dogs. He has a Lab and a Boxer, new to the family as we’ve always had Labs or Goldens.
Did you know that dogs actually consider what we think of as hugs to be aggression? They learn to accept our hugs, but it’s not natural for them. I think a lot of what we do to dogs is not natural to them, but they give so much love back. I think they understand love very much. Dogs and kids – the best match ever!
Earlier this week, there was another single line strip which featured six panels and I praised the strip while reflecting that it was a surprising number of panels for a daily strip rather than a Sunday strip. Brian Basset has pulled this feat off twice in one week!

So those are the questions that Rover would ask a talking Christmas present – which is how he sees Red.
