I knew that Wallace is a tree hugger, but I thought Spud was a little more grounded.

And if you turn on your Vitamix kitchen blender, there are at least two ways to think of the relative movement.

Either the blades are spinning at 28,000 RPM or the blades are standing still and the rest of the Universe is whirling around them at 28,000 RPM.

Better not tell him how fast the Earth is moving around the Sun or, even worse, how fast the Milky Way Galaxy is moving the the Universe.

Just remember that you’re standing on a planet that’s evolving

And revolving at nine hundred miles an hour

That’s orbiting at nineteen miles a second, so it’s reckoned

hehe I remember a NOVA episode on PBS where an astrophysicist was trying to talk himself out of a speeding ticket.

Actually, your speed around Earth depends on your latitude. At the equator you’re going about 1K mph but the further north or south you go the slower you are revolving around the earth. Think how fast you would be going at the North or South pole.

Sometimes, too much information can hurt you. However Spud just made a new friendship with a tree…..

This was like telling a germaphobe that there are microbes already living inside of you.

Poor Spud. But the tree is so happy ♡.

Is that why the water in the toilet bowl spins?

At the equator.. up here we are hardly moving.

After the awkward tree comment, the duo realized that they weren’t in Kansas anymore…

Assuming Snug Harbor is in Maine, Spud can breath a little easier. I figure he’s moving only about 730 mph at that latitude! Rose should know this!

Of course, this is only rotation. Don’t tell him about our orbit about the sun or it’s motion in the galaxy or the galaxy’s motion in the universe ….

But, as someone once said, it’s all relative. ;)

The Earth is orbiting the sun at about 67,000 miles per hour. The solar system is orbiting the Milk Way at about half a million miles per hour.

At least he didn’t hurl.

Get used to it tree because he aint letting go.

Spud being a good hugger is a trait that will serve well with his children.
