The key for me was when I figured out that the in-crowd were boreing. Thereafter, I was mostly content to hang out with the chess club, the marching band members and a wide collection of books.

Max needs to live up to his name!

Actually, given the billions of people living on this planet, and hundreds of millions of people living in the US, Max is probably right. The real reason Max and Phoebe don’t meet the other Maxs is that his type is rare enough that the other Maxs are too far away for them to run into.

Poor Max, but did anyone else notice he stopped looking at his phone? This must be important.

Max is my favorite character. I like the book where he makes friend’s with that lightning dragon.

You can’t ever be friends with someone exactly like you. It would be like making friends with a mirror.

IMHO Alejandra is meaner than Dakota. I mean, the girl seems to have started spewing nastiness her first day at the school.

I have friend who says stuff like that. He is an expert at insecurity. Just the other day I said in response to one of his comments, “Hey, don’t talk about my buddy that way!”

Well… I DON’T understand… maybe he would join a geek club for like learning and stuff or like Phoebe’s club?? Also, there is probably no one who can compare to Phoebe. Ya know, like there is no one like Marigold.

I tried being insecure once, but it frightened me…

If they were older, we’d all be yelling “Kiss each other” at this point. Still too young and innocent.

I had a hard time finding my peer group. Not in school, not at work. Still looking 40 years later.

Or maybe they all live on Mars. ;P
