6 YO returns to school next week in a “hybrid” form. Half the class will go on Mon and Tues, half day online on Weds. and then online for Thurs and Fri, while the other half will attend class on Thur and Fri.
Yes, Penny, 2020 is over. But Covid is still very much around. The good news is vaccinations from Moderna and Pfizer are here (and the ones from Astra Zeneca and Johnson & Johnson are not far behind at all), and my hope is strong that we will reach herd immunity as a nation by the third quarter (July through Sept.) of this year. In the meantime, we still have a winter to get through (as the cold drives people back indoors in most of the country). But after winter comes the spring, when the calvary will finally be here!

Unfortunately, “2020” and “pandemic” aren’t synonyms.

2020 was just the dress rehearsals for the future.

Welcome to the sequel. Let’s hope it doesn’t turn into a trilogy.

One certain politician said our ‘darkest days’ are ‘ahead of us’ and not behind. So, 2021 may just be a bad sequel… Or Groundhog Day on steroids…

My favorite 9-year-old will never know the joy of a snow day. He’s home schooled.

2021… s.o.s.

Have seen the opinion that even with Zoom, there should be snow days as they’re integral to normal child development.

My university cancelled school on a snow day because some students, lacking internet access at home, need to drive to free Wi-Fi hotspots.
